ATOMIC TRANSPORT IN METALLIC LIQUIDS AND GLASSES (SS6)
In this session a focus is given on the following topics with latest results from experiment, simulation and theory:

  • Relation of self- and interdiffusion,
  • relation of atomic transport and viscous flow,
  • relation of melt structure and diffusion,
  • relation between atomic mobility of various components,
  • relation of diffusion and structural relaxation,
  • relation of diffusion and nucleation as well as crystal growth and vitrification,
  • relation of transport of mass and transport of heat.
